Municipal Court

Florence Municipal Court handles all misdemeanors and traffic offenses within the City limits of Florence that were initiated by a Florence Police Officer.
 
Florence Municipal Court is connected to the Lauderdale County Detention Center. The mailing address is P.O. Box 1327, Florence, Alabama 35630. Court is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00 am and every third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm.

The Florence Municipal Court Magistrates can be reached at (256) 760-6625. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Payments are accepted in our office between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Cash, cashiers check, and money orders are acceptable methods of payment. We also accept debit/credit cards (processing fee). Monthly payments and certain citations may also be paid by going to florenceal.govtportal.com.

Judge Chris Smith, and the Florence Municipal Prosecutor, Heath Trousdale, work part-time and are only available on court days.

If you are interested in going to Driving School you MUST appear in court on your court date. Only the Judge can grant you permission to attend the driving school program.
