Florence is located on the Tennessee River in Lauderdale County. Florence Fire operates out of five fire houses located throughout the city.
Our coverage area covers the city limits of Florence providing emergency services to approximately 40 thousand people. We average between three thousand to thirty-five hundred calls per year. We also provide support to fourteen volunteer fire departments located throughout the county.

The State Forester has issued a Fire Alert for the whole State of Alabama. Burn permits have been restricted and anyone caught without a burn permit can be subject to prosecution for committing a Class B misdemeanor. It is my recommendation that if we run any open burning calls that we put them out. The link to State Forestry’s web page and the news bulletin is posted below.
