Adopt-A-Street Program

Businesses, groups and/or individuals can adopt a city street pledging to keep approximately one-mile of roadway litter free for a two-year period. The city provides supplies—garbage bags, gloves, gloves, and vests. Adoptees pick up trash and place it in their garbage carts. If trash exceeds cart capacity, adoptees can call the Street Department at 256-768-6460 and a crew will collect excess trash. 

If you are interested in adopting a street or just doing a onetime street cleanup, please contact the Education Outreach office at 256-760-6498.  We will provide supplies and schedule the collection of trash that you gather.
