Redcross Lifeguard Certification at Sheffield Parks and Recreation. Class #1 - March 27, 28, 30, 31 and April 1. Class #2 - April 17, 18, 20, 21 & 22. Fee is $225 for Full Certification and $125 for Recertification - cash or check only. 10 people maximum per class, minimum of 4 per class. Call 256-386-5615 for any other questions.
The swim test dates for April Lifeguard classes at the Florence, AL YMCA are March 24th at 5pm and March 30th at 5pm. The class will be held April 13-16. They can have up to 10 people per class. Please call 256-246-9622 for more infomation.

Quad-Cities Square Dance – Square dancers meet every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Royal Avenue Recreation Center. Open to singles and couples. Line dancing is also incorporated and free classes offered during the “Introduction to Dance Night.” For more information call 256-760-6425.

Recreation Center rentals:
The center may be reserved for birthday parties, holiday gatherings, anniversary parties, weddings, etc. from the 1rst weekend after Labor Day weekend till the last weekend in April of each year.
Please call (256) 760-6425 to check for availability. Reservations must be made at the Royal Avenue Recreation Center office. Cash or Check only is accepted for payment. The cost is $20.00 per hour with a 2 hour reservation minimum. No reservations after 10 p.m.
Sunday reservation hours must be 1-5 p.m.
Monday evenings through Friday evenings if available 5-10 p.m. only.
Saturdays 8 a.m. through 10 p.m. if available. No more than 8 hours at a time.

New hours for the 2023 season are tentatively as follows: Tuesday - Saturday 12 - 5 p.m. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Maximum capacity varies each day depending on Lifeguard availability at Royal Avenue Pools till further notice.
No $50 or $100 dollar bills accepted.
No Pool passes will be sold.

Tennis – League play is available on various Park and Recreation Courts around the city. Free play is also available.
