Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services
Florence, Alabama (February 12, 2025) ––The City of Florence has not changed its policies regarding Animal Services. The recent influx of the 82 animals and the new pups that are part of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s ongoing investigation did not change any of these policies. They are all being safely cared for by our staff and volunteers.
Mayor Andy Betterton states, “At no time have I asked the director, staff, or volunteers to increase euthanizing the animals in our care. As always, rescuing and rehoming animals is a high priority for Animal Services, and we are grateful for the partnerships that allow that to happen.”
