Youth Basketball
The Florence Parks and Recreation league provides an opportunity for girls (kindergarten – 7th grade) and boys (kindergarten – 9th grade) to engage in a competitive and developmental basketball program.
Program Details:
- Registration Period: October -November
- Evaluation and Draft: Second week of November
- Practices: Mid-November – December
- Games: January – Mid-February
- Practice and Game Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
- Registration Fee: $35.00 (Uniform not included)
Locations:
Practices and games take place at various locations, including the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum, Broadway Recreation Center, Forest Hills Elementary School, Rufus G. Hibbett Intermediate School, and Weeden Elementary School gyms.
Coach Safely Training:
The Florence Parks and Recreation prioritize safety and quality coaching. All sports coaches undergo the Coach Safely Training Coursework to ensure a safe and positive sports environment for our young athletes.
Adult Church League Basketball
The Florence Parks and Recreation Adult Church League Basketball is a slow-break basketball league open to any church with a roster of at least 8 people, all aged 18 or older.
Program Details:
- Registration Period: Mid-October – Beginning of December
- Game Period: First week of January – Beginning of February
- Tournament: End of season (time permitting)
- Location: Broadway Recreation Center
- Registration Fee: $300.00 per team
How to Register a Team:
Participating churches can register online at our registration page or by calling the Sportsplex Office at 256-760-6628. A designated head coach from each church will handle the registration process.
