Youth Softball Program

Welcome to the Florence Parks and Recreation Youth Softball Program! Our program provides a fantastic opportunity for children aged 5-12 to learn and enjoy the game of softball in a fun and supportive environment. Our Softball program is dual sanctioned with All-American Youth Sports and Babe Ruth Softball.

Registration Information

• Registration Period: January and February
• Practice Start Date: March
• Game Period: April and May
• Age Group: 5-12 years old
• Age Determination: December 31st of the previous year.
• Registration Fee: $35.00 (Uniforms not included)

Registration for youth softball begins in January, and practices kick off in March, leading to exciting games played during April and May. We welcome all youngsters aged 5-12 to join us for a season of softball fun and skill development.

League Divisions:

• Coach Pitch (6u & 8u): In these divisions, players experience coach-pitched games, allowing for more hittable balls at the plate and increased action in the field. The format enhances safety, boosts playing confidence, and develops fundamental skills.
• Kid Pitch (10u & 12u): As players progress in age, they transition to Kid Pitch divisions, building and refining their fundamental skills. Participants gain a deeper understanding of game strategy, teamwork, and may have the opportunity to participate in post-season tournaments.

Schedule and Location

• Practice and Game Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
• Weekend Practices: Available at coach’s discretion
• Venue: Florence Sportsplex

Most practices and all games take place at the Florence Sportsplex, offering a well-equipped space and awesome facility for our young athletes.  Saturday practice times are available for coaches to tailor the schedule to the team’s needs.

Coach Safely Training

All sports coaches involved in the Florence Parks and Recreation programs are required to complete the Coach Safely Training Coursework. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our young athletes and believe that well-trained coaches contribute significantly to a positive and secure sporting environment.
