Alcoholic Beverage License Process
- Apply with the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board for the In-State License.
- ABC Board will give the applicant a packet to turn into the City Clerk’s Office, at which time the applicant will complete the City of Florence Alcohol/Beverage License Application.
- Once the application process is complete, the request for license will be added to the City Council agenda by the City Clerk’s Office. City Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.
- Upon City Council approval, a resolution will be sent to the ABC Board.
- A copy of the ABC License must be presented by the applicant when applying for the City of Florence Business License.
- A Retail Liquor Gross Receipts Tax Report is due each month. The liquor tax is 5% of liquor sales. (Beer and Wine sales are tax exempt.)
