As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, the City of Florence is proud to join communities across the country in celebrating the people, places, and stories that shape our shared history. Florence’s America 250 initiative invites residents and visitors to explore our community through events, storytelling, historic reflections, and new experiences that highlight the spirit of our city.

One Nation, Many Stories

Florence’s story is shaped by the people, places, and moments that have defined our community. As part of the America 250 celebration, this video series highlights local history through guided tours and stories from across the Shoals. A new video will be released each month leading up to the Spirit of Freedom Celebration on July 4, 2026, sharing the stories that make Florence unique.
