Municipal Court

Florence Municipal Court handles all misdemeanors and traffic offenses within the City limits of Florence that a Florence Police Officer initiated.

Florence Municipal Court is located next to the Lauderdale County Detention Center. The mailing address is P.O. Box 1327, Florence, Alabama 35630. Court is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00 am and every third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm.

The Florence Municipal Court Magistrates can be reached at (256)-760-6625. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Payments are accepted between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Cash, cashiers checks, and money orders are acceptable methods of payment. We also accept debit/credit cards (processing fee). Monthly payments and specific citations may also be paid online.

Judge Chris Smith and the Florence Municipal Prosecutor, Heath Trousdale, work part-time and are only available on court days.

If you are interested in going to Driving School, you MUST appear in court on your court date. Only the Judge can permit you to attend the driving school program.
