Our mission at the Florence Senior Center is to provide services and programs that empower older adults through mental, physical, and social activities to improve all aspects of their lives.

Monday – Friday             9:00am – 3:30pm
Saturday & Sunday       CLOSED

Monday – Friday 11:30 – 12:15 AM

  • We ask that each individual is signed in by 10:30, as it is first come first serve
  • Participants must be at least 60 years of age
  • We serve 25 meals on Monday
  • We serve 40 meals on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
  • The Nutrition Program is closed during State and Federal Holidays
  •  MLK Day – President’s Day – Good Friday – Confed. Memorial Day – Memorial Day – Jefferson Day – Juneteenth – Independence Day – Labor Day – Columbus Day – Veterans Day – Thanksgiving – Christmas

Joints in Motion

Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

9:30 – 10:30 AM

  • Instructor: Fran Davis

  • Fee: Free to all

  • Our Joints in Motion class helps us to retain the mobility that keeps us connected to the things that we love. Many of these exercises are similar to what physical therapists use with patients during rehab. This class allows senior adults to remain active, while allowing them to live life to the fullest.

  • Key Benefits: improves strength, balance, mood, and cognitive functions

  • Chat and Share: Join our post-class discussion circle, where we share some of our favorite memories, wishes, and ideas.

Wednesday

10:15 – 11:00 AM

  • Participants bring prizes to share

  • Items such as toilet paper, soaps, shampoos, expendable items

  • Please bring items to front office (Fran’s)

  • Rummikub, Rummy, Mexican Train, Puzzles

  • We enjoy learning new games! Any suggestions are always appreciated

  • Many of our participants play different games before and after lunch

    • Great way to socialize and enjoy the company of our peers

Travel / Destination Tuesday – wear your favorite destination shirt

Tacky Thursday – wear your tackiest and have some fun with us

RED Fridays – we wear RED to show our support for our TROOPS, FIRST RESPONDERS, and LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

Singing River Square Dance

  • Beginner square dance lessons – 2 x per year

Boomers and Seniors Dance
