The Urban Forestry Department of the City of Florence oversees the City’s landscaping needs, tree planting programs, and renewal of older urban trees.

Florence has received numerous awards and recognitions based on the high level of tree care and environmental improvement our department provides, including being named Tree City USA for the 25th consecutive year.

In addition to acquiring, planting, and caring for new plantings of trees and ornamental plants, special attention is given to old, mature trees and their maintenance.

The urban forester/horticulturist also executes the City’s landscape beautification program.
