Andrew Betterton was inaugurated as Mayor of the City of Florence on November 2, 2020. Before becoming Mayor of Florence, Andy worked for thirty-three years as the Chief Financial Officer for a local electrical supply company. He was honored to serve for twelve years as a council member and seven years as a school board member for the sixth district of Florence.  

Andy graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Accounting and Music. He continued his schooling at UNA to earn a Master of Arts in Education. He and his wife, Sandra, have three children and seven grandchildren.
