Our Departments maintains safe and accessible roadways for our community, responsibly manages waste for a cleaner environment, promotes sustainability and reduces landfill waste.
Due to the upcoming weather forecast on Saturday, the Florence Citywide Cleanup Day has been postponed. We encourage groups to clean up at their convenience. Cleanup supplies are available for those who wish to participate.
We have decided to highlight March and April as ‘Choose Your Own Cleanup’ months. Please call us at 256-760-6495 and tell us when and where you would like to do your litter cleanup. We will provide the supplies for your cleanup.
Solid Waste Department
The Solid Waste Department provides residential and commercial garbage collection within the corporate city limits.
Street Department
The Street Department is responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of streets, alleys, and rights-of-way. They also maintain the department vehicles and provide curbside programs for the collection of household trash and yard debris.
