Landfill
The City of Florence Landfill only accepts construction and demolition waste.
City of Florence Landfill acceptable waste includes:
- Wastes generated within the Florence City Limits (must bring proof of residency).
- Non-putrescible waste (waste that doesn’t decay).
- Nonhazardous construction and demolition waste.
Construction/Demolition Waste – waste building materials, packaging, and rubble resulting from construction, remodeling, repair, or demolition operations on houses, commercial buildings, and other structures. Such wastes include, but are not limited to, masonry materials, sheet rock, roofing waste, insulation (not including asbestos), scrap metal, and wood products. Uncontaminated concrete, soil, brick, waste asphalt paving, and ash resulting from the combustion of untreated wood, rock, and similar materials are excluded from this definition. We can no longer accept municipal solid waste or garbage at the landfill.
Household Waste Disposal: City residents may dispose of household waste in the dumpsters at the city landfill with proof of residency (driver’s license or utility bill).
The City of Florence does not collect construction debris. Contractors are responsible for the disposal of construction and demolition debris.
LANDFILL TIPPING FEES–effective September 1, 2023
(There is a load minimum fee of $6.00 for any load under 1 Ton.)

The City of Florence does not collect construction debris. This is not a service that the city provides. Contractors are responsible for the disposal of construction and demolition debris. Residents/Businesses will be charged a fee for the collection of demolition waste by the City.
