LIHEAP and Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama
Job loss or health issues can strain family finances. LIHEAP, a federally-funded program that helps eligible low-income households with home energy bills, can help. For Lauderdale County, visit the Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama at https://www.caanw.org/ . The LIHEAP application packet is available online at that web address or a client can pick up a packet at their office. The client can mail, email, or drop the completed packet with their documentation off at their office. Community Action will notify Florence Utilities if you are approved for assistance. The agency will notify the customer if they are denied, and the customer will be responsible for letting Florence Utilities know they are denied.
